STEM SOCIETY Campaign
We had a project given to us, to make an ad campaign on a topic we think is important to our society; then we would present our campaign to Ignited. Our group is made up of an art director (which is the job I had), account executive, the web designer, the videographer, and the web designer. My job was to make the poster for the ad campaign. We planned an event with four other groups, the event was to get students involved and interested in each our events.
This is a picture of the poster our group came up with for our campaign. We wanted the poster to symbolize how STEM connects the youth. The children in the poster symbolize the youth, and the kids are different nationalities and genders, since most of the careers are white and male dominated. We wanted to show that it doesn't have to be that way, that anyone people from different nationalities and genders can work in STEM related careers. The puzzles have the different letters of STEM on them and they're connecting to each other. All these elements together make STEM society.
I think our group did very well, we improved a lot from the first time we presented in front of the class. It went as planned and I was pleased and impressed with the outcome. This project helped improved on how to work and communicate in a team. I learned not to be so nervous when presenting and how to say what I'm going to say with getting tongue twisted. All the school-wide learning goals were used and needed with this project. The advice I would give to the seniors would be to take this project seriously, to be creative, and to have fun doing it because in the end it's a great learning experience.

RIM-E (NXT Robot)
One of the projects we had in class was to build a robot in little groups that we were put into. The robot was made out of legos. We had to program it to dance and follow a path of black tape.
